If you’re dreaming of a wedding day that feels warm, stylish, and full of personality… Skyline Loft is the kind of venue that makes it all come together. Molly and Mickey’s celebration felt like the perfect blend of romance and fun. I’m still obsessed with their images, and I’ve been so excited to get them on the blog!
An AP English class and a shared love of books helped spark their relationship. For the first five years, they made long distance work while they were in college. Eventually they found their way back to Chicago, living in the same city again for the first time since they were eighteen.

Molly’s dress felt straight out of a modern fairytale. The off the shoulder gown featured soft pleated fabric and layers of airy tulle that was just. so. bridal.. She paired it with sheer opera length gloves and delicate earrings that gave the entire look a vintage inspired elegance.
Mickey kept things classic in a black tuxedo with a bow tie. The look was timeless and polished, but still relaxed enough to match the laid back vibe of the day.
She wanted to make sure to include it in her getting ready photos, and I’m so glad she mentioned that because THE Diet Coke has been loving and reposting her images from this day!

One of my favorite things about Molly and Mickey is how much they love the little traditions in their relationship. Movies are a big one. Every year during their birthdays, the birthday person gets to pick five movies to watch that week.
They also love exploring New York City and traveling together. That sense of curiosity and adventure really showed up in their wedding day. It was relaxed, joyful, and full of genuine excitement.
We wandered outside, just really soaking up this moment! The joy was real, and I loved how expressive and fun these two were! We made sure to take their wedding party portraits before the ceremony as well.
The Art Institute of Chicago’s Gardens is a really popular place for wedding portraits, and you can easily see why. The stunning greenery, sweeping landscapes, old fashioned columns… it’s so elegant and romantic.

The traditional Catholic ceremony was a beautiful way for Mickey and Molly to honor their traditions and create a true wedding moment for both of them.
The elegance and grandeur of the church really set the scene for that dramatic walk down the aisle that so many people dream of.
Once they were officially Mr. & Mrs… it was time for their epic reception at Skyline Loft!

The reception space at Skyline Loft was exactly what Molly had envisioned on her mood board. Cozy candlelight filled the room, reflecting off crystal glassware and deep red accents throughout the tables.
Long tables were dressed in white linens with rich burgundy runners. Floral arrangements in shades of red and cream added texture and color, while tall candles created the warm glow everyone hopes for at a candlelit reception. Above it all hung stunning chandeliers framed by soft draping, giving the room a dramatic but intimate feel.

By the time Molly and Mickey hit the dance floor, the energy in the room was contagious. One of the sweetest moments was watching them spin together, Molly’s dress swirling around them while Mickey raised a coupe glass in celebration.
After a few songs, Molly changed into a vintage-inspired reception dress. The fringe on the corset bodice was so fun!! She was such a vision!
Mickey and Molly – thank you for choosing me to be your Chicago wedding photographer. It was such an honor to document this timeless day for you. Congratulations!!
