It was a decade in the making. They had dreamed of this day shortly after Kevin had leaned over to cheat off of Sarah’s papers in their high school science class. The thought of this day and finally being together had motivated them and kept them steadfast through all the years  of college, long distance and career changes. A decade of hard work and pouring their heart and soul into their relationship had paid off, and as the rain drizzled down the windows of the Ramada Plaza, Sarah buttoned her dress, ignored the impending weather, and thought of only Kevin.

As tears streamed down their cheeks and vows were uttered, Sarah and Kevin turned to walk down the aisle and sun peeked through the windows. After days of thunderstorms, the clouds finally broke. While most would think it was just good luck and happenstance, Sarah knew differently. The grandma that she had lost  before the wedding -the grandma that she could never imagine not being at her wedding – had gifted her the short two hours of dry sky that happened that day.

Between the prayer before the ceremony, seeing each other walk down the aisle, the first dances, and being surrounded by their loved ones, Sarah and Kevin’s day was full of emotion and happy tears. From the icing that Sarah gave to Kevin as they entered the reception to the flash mob dance off that the Ramada staff and her mom (the manager) shocked the crown with, their reception was also full of surprises. And as they stood out in the sprinkling summer rain at the end of the day and reflected on how far they had come, they both agreed- it was worth the decade.

Sarah and Kevin, we can’t thank you enough for letting us be apart of your day and granting us the privilege of documenting your beautiful souls and the friends and family that surround you.
