We hiked through Moraine Lake and Trial Ridge Road of Rocky Mountain National Park during their engagement session as Erin sheepishly recounted how Matt and her started dating. Her friends knew it. Her family knew it. Matt knew it. Erin, however, refused to admit that her and Matt were in a relationship. They were just friends, anything more might ruin what they had. She didn’t care for him like that. It wasn’t that serious. But Matt persisted, because there was no way he was about to continue his life without the ornery, dimpled smile girl by his side. So finally, after two years of committing to the friend zone, Erin finally realized that she too, couldn’t live without Matt.
It moved faster after that, and when she told him that her dream was to move out to Colorado he readily agreed. So after years of friendship and a few years of dating, they packed their bags and started their lives off in Colorado. They spent their weekends hiking, visiting breweries, and exploring Denver. And even with opposite work schedules and the crazy wedding planning, they still try their best to visit one of their favorite places – Rocky Mountain National Park. And on a day that guaranteed rain, we managed to capture the best weather and scenery as we explored one of their favorite places on earth.
They’ll be married next summer in Indiana where they both first crossed paths, but Erin and Matt felt like they needed to integrate a small portion of their love of Colorado into their wedding, so here we are. Erin and Matt, this trip was so freaking fun. You two are hilarious, completely meant for each other, and the best souls. I can’t wait to party it up with you next year. All the love – xx, M
